Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is therapy?

Therapy, also known as counseling or psychotherapy, is a professional service where you work with a licensed therapist to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns. Therapy provides a safe, supportive environment to explore challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, addiction, and personal growth. The goal is to help you gain insight, build coping skills, and improve overall well-being.

What is life coaching?

Life coaching focuses on helping individuals identify goals, clarify values, and create action plans to move forward in their personal or professional lives. Unlike therapy, coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead, it provides structure, accountability, and motivation to help you maximize potential, overcome obstacles, and achieve meaningful life changes.

What is financial coaching?

Financial coaching with an Accredited Financial Counselor helps individuals and families build healthy money habits, manage budgets, reduce debt, and create financial plans aligned with their goals. A financial coach works alongside you to improve your relationship with money, increase financial literacy, and provide tools for long-term stability and success.

Who can benefit from therapy or coaching?

Anyone and everyone!

Therapy may be helpful if you’re experiencing ongoing stress, emotional difficulties, mental health concerns, or want a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Life coaching may be helpful if you’re feeling stuck, seeking clarity, or want to achieve personal or career goals.

Financial coaching may be helpful if you want to better manage your money, build financial confidence, or create a long-term plan.

How do I know which service is right for me?

If you are unsure, you don’t have to decide right away! During your first appointment, we will explore your goals, challenges, and needs together. From there, we will recommend whether therapy, coaching, or a combination of both is best for you.

Is everything confidential?

Yes. Therapy sessions are confidential and protected under HIPAA privacy laws. Coaching sessions are also kept private, though they are not subject to the same legal protections as therapy.

Your privacy and trust are always a top priority.

What can I expect during my first session?

Your first session is about getting to know you. We will discuss your concerns, goals, and what you hope to gain. Together, we will create a plan tailored to your needs—whether that’s therapy, life coaching, financial coaching, or a combination.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. We only offer virtual sessions at this time. Virtual sessions allow you to have a safe space where you can complete your sessions with flexibility in the comfort of your own space.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time we do not accept insurance.

If you would like to utilize your health insurance and have specific questions about how you can file for reimbursement on your own, and still work with Inner Calm Therapy, please contact us so we can create a plan that best suits your situation.
